I came to the Orlando area in 2003. I have never anywhere I have been more pround to call home. I came here to escape the winter cold of the Midwest. I spent most of my professional career helping others find employment or work-related training. I lead an active life as a distance runner. If there is a race in the area, you will likely find me at it. If you are a local runner, you may know who I am. I am currently training to participate in the New York City Marathon for the third time. It is not unusual for someone to be marathon training. The thing folks find interesting about my effort is that I was born with cerebral palsy. Fortunately, my parents taught me to live life to the fullest and to just be myself. When I am not doing my own training, I assist my personal trainer teaching group exercise whenever she needs it and make motivational presentations to schools, community organizations and others. I am an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears fan. I enjoy being active in the community and doing whatever I can to make my little piece of the world a better place. I have recently established a Foundation, for this purpose. Our vision and mission is to empower individuals with chronic and orthopeadic conditions to go forward with the "can do" attitude necessary to live a life of peace and meaning utilizing a holistic approach centered around running, walking and education. For me, the Foundation is a chance to say thank you for the opportunities and blessings I have been privileged to receive in my life.
