What's Your Favorite Coffee Drink?

So it turns out, drinking coffee can actually help us live longer lives!  That's good news for those of us that rely on a cup just to get the day started.

Here's the article Growing Bolder just wrote about the study.

So, what's your favorite drink?  Do you like it with 2 sugars and cream, or are you a latte fan? What happens when you don't get your coffee kick?

I like my coffee strong and black.  If I don't get up and fix a cup in the morning, I don't get up.

My poison is Cuppuccino.  MMMMMMMM  I'm sipping one right now.  It's cold here.  I'm in sunny Queensland Australia and outside is about 10 degrees.  Perfect weather for drinking coffee.

This may be sort of amusing... My wife LOVES Starbucks, and I quake in my boots every time she asks me to "run by" and pick something up for her. She actually has to write down what she wants even though it's the same thing all the time. I have some kind of mental block. I can't believe it's this difficult to order, but she always wants a WHITE CHOCOLATE MOCHA LATTE GRANDE. Man, I work so hard to memorize that! I feel like I'm back in my 9th grade foreign language class! The beads of sweat work up as I approach the counter, saying it over and over again in my mind. Then the moment of truth! Somehow it never comes out right and I get that blank, pitiful stare. The one where you feel like they want to pat you on the head, say, "Now, now. Just slow down and say it again!" But I guess now I'm to the point where I can admit it. I'm Starbucks illiterate! Are there any others like me? Maybe we could start a program, or a support group! Uh, oh! Now the girl at the counter wants to know if I want whip with that! Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh!

It must be a man thing.  My husband acts the same way when I send him into Starbucks for me and my order's simple -- grande nonfat sugar-free hazelnut latte.  What's so hard about that?  That's why I LOVE those Dunkin' Donuts commercials though -- "My mouth can't afford these words. Is is French? Or Italian? Perhaps Fratalien?"  I laugh every time it comes on!

I like mine with lots of creamer and some sugar, but if I use French Vanilla creamer I don't need the sugar.  Now....what does the study say about drinking decaffeinated coffee?  That's what I drink.

    Ginger!

One of my favorite pleasures is opening a brand new can of coffee.

To me, adding any flavors turns my coffee into a dessert.  A restaurant once tried serving hazelnut coffee without saying that's what they were doing.  I immediately knew something was different and sent it back.  It was quite a while ago, and I can't recall if they replaced it with regular coffee.  Maybe they ran out?  Another time at a different restaurant, they served instant coffee with breakfast.  The waitress denied it, but I could tell the difference.

I like my coffee strong and caffeinated--no sugar or sweeteners.  I usually lighten it with whole milk, but 2% milk or half and half will work.  If there's no milk or half and half available, I'll use non-dairy powdered creamer.  I keep a container in the cupboard just in case.  What's in that stuff anyway?

On average, I drink about 2 cups of coffee each day and have no problem with caffeine keeping me awake even if I drink a cup before going to bed.
