Campaign 2008 is just heating up, as we get closer to knowing who the Democratic candidate for president will be. On the Republican side, John McCain has been the presumptive nominee for weeks, but the big question for him is, who will he choose as his running mate?
McCain acknowledged the interest in an appearance on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart":
No way! A Vice President from another party would never assist the President in his/her policies. They have two different points of view and that is why they are in different parties. A mixed White House would be ineffective and a detriment to the country.

It's a great idea, but he'd have to be very careful who he chooses. His "buddy" Sen. Joe Leiberman would be a great choice because he's a very independent politician, even though he lines up with the Dems sometimes. They've written legislation together and he backs McCain all the way. It's about time we chose people instead of party and this would be a great time to start.
I hope whoever runs or the party chooses one with his/her own point of view who will not be afraid to voice his opinion when he thinks the Pres is wrong. This is no place for yes men!
