YOU MAY NOT OWN OR EVEN LIKE GUNS, but if you LOVE FREEDOM, YOU better get involved NOW!!!  TOMORROW YOU MAY NOT HAVE AN OPTION.
HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009
Please send this to everybody on your list... this is Obama guncontrol by secrecy.

Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House
This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of  Sale  Act of 2009.
We just learned yesterday about this on the Peter Boyles radio program.
Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because it is flying under the radar..

To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.

Basically this "little" piece of legislation would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:

    ..It is registered

    .You are fingerprinted
.You supply a current Driver's License
.You supply your Social Security #
.You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing
.Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25
Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.

There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Guns must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18.

The Government would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read this..
    http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h45/text

It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this. Pass the word along.
FAILURE TO DO SO AT YOUR PERIL!

Any hunters in your family - pass this along.

Peter Boyles is on this and having guests. Listen to him on KHOW 630 a.m. in the morning.

He suggests the best way to fight this is to tell all your friends about it and "spring into action".
Also he suggests we all join a pro-gun group like the Colorado Rifle Association, hunting associations, gun clubs JPFO (JEWS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF FIREARMS OWNERSHIPand especially the GOA and NRA..

This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns
and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it.
YOU MAY NOT OWN OR EVEN LIKE GUNS, but if you LOVE FREEDOM, YOU better get involved NOW!!!
TOMORROW YOU MAY NOT HAVE AN OPTION.

More on Blair Holt bill from NRA -ILA site.

    http://www.nraila.org/Search/?q=blair%20holt.

Reading the snopes artical, (bottom) it states this bill has yet to pick up a single cosponsor and would likely be allowed to die in subcomittee. The dems have recognized these bills as political poison with the majority of americans being firearms owners. This lesson was learned from the fallout of the worthless Clinton assault weapons ban. Although dems may have a majority, they aren't overwhelming. Will they shoot themselves in the foot? Unlikely.

Something like 25 state atty generals have issued letters to Holden basically stating they do NOT support additional gun legislation.

What will more likely happen is control over ammunition, as is happening in California already. Jump through hoops and pay huge excise taxes to obtain it. My post above noting the handgun ammo shelf in a huge sporting good store was BARE. But they had lots of guns for sale of all kinds. And those are worth what without ammo? On the counter were a few boxes of russian imported ammo, military calibres. $9.75/20 rounds for the exact same ammo that was $70/1000 rounds in 2007. $.07 a round or $.50 a round? Take it or leave it. Bulk ammo I bought last November has doubled or tripled in cost as of today.

Rachel, It is nice to meet someone who still drives a Comet Caliente, mine is a 66 hardtop and the only year they made it full size. I had 2 comets prior to this one and like we were told in those days you had to trade every 3 yrs.I finaly said no way as I was sick of car payments. My Bessie still runs maybe not as good as yours but every time I take her out some one wants to buy her but no deal she is my grand old lady. I live in the mountains and lots of snow so I finaly broke down in 84 and bought a GMC Jimmy which I am also told is getting to be an antique,so I run Bessie in summer and Buddy in winter but do alternate year round to keep the battery up.

You go girl you make all us oldsters proud. Marjorie in California

    Everybody needs to remember;

Without a strong Second Amendment, we are powerless to keep the other amendments.

We have already lost freedom of speech as some speech is considered 'hateful.'

We have very precarious freedom of the press. Think "Fairness Doctrine"

Freedom of Association has been seriously weakened.

Property Ownership was gored by Telo.

Right to Privacy is being dismantled by ObamaCare and Electronic Medical Records.

Right to Life is being replaced with Right to some life as determined by ObamaCare.

Somebody else can add to this list. I know it will be a lengthy list.

For years, I have suggested licensing gun owners.  You need a license to drive, fly a plane, and in some places, operate a boat.  All require that you demonstrate competence to do so safely (well, more or less).  Why not something similar to own a firearm.  Having the license would not mean you own one, just that you had demonstrated knowledge in the care, handling, and safety involved.

This would not stop criminals from obtaining weapons, but no law has ever done that.  What it might do is make for more responsible gun ownership and reduce gun accidents.

    I could live with that.

I personally don't want to give the right of government to come into my home and inspect at any time just like I don't want government to have access to my checking account for heathcare reform.  This is a democracy not a socialist state.

Rather than licensing gun ownership, how about having gun safety and use classes in junior high and high school. Switzerland and Israel use a similar program of equipping young adults to properly use a gun. A population that understands the handling of guns is far better than a country that fears guns. The second may become known as slaves to the former.

The accidental use of firearms is actually very low. We just have a media that likes to highlight any accidents. Licensing drivers has done nothing to reduce the carnage on our highways. Drunk drivers with suspended licenses continue to reek havoc on our roads.

Even airbags and such only limit the injuries after and accident. They do not reduce the number of accidents. Anti-lock brakes do not reduce deaths. In fact, early on, there was an increase in deaths due to the misuse and false security. Only anti-lock brakes on motorcycles have proven to save lives.

    Now... this is getting interesting...

There is a degree of responsibility and liability that comes with gun ownership, use etc. I would think that law abiding citizens have this figured out? ( I am not getting into criminals with illegal guns here). I had all that pounded into me as a teenager shooting at a range in the 50's and again when I took my CCW permit classes.

Yeah, I got it. I have been around firearms my entire life. I understand, totally, the responsibility of gun ownership, safe use in hunting, handling, storage, all of it.

But what about the newbee? Some person that has never owned a firearm and just goes and buys one because they legally-can?

I went to shoot at a gravel pit with a close friend/newbee gun owner. From the back of his van, he gets out his Ruger 10/22, fully loaded with one in the chamber! "WTF are you doing/thinking?" He got the gun safety discussion from hell, from me! Yo, MORON!

I don't know what to think.  It's the paper trail issue/registration and all of that. But on the flip side, there are idiots owning firearms with no comprehension of gun safety or legal liability issues, and that scares me to death.

Guns don't kill people; IDIOTS kill people. And don't tell me the isn't a concern and one the media plays to the max.

In Michigan, Kids have to pass a hunter safety class including firearms handling and range time before thay can obtain a hunting licence. Adults, over 21, do not. WHY NOT? Becaue they are over 21?

I really can't answer this one. All  I can say is that I refuse to hunt with inexperianced hunters and if I see someone do something careless or stupid with a firearm. ALL DONE.
