Big Political News -- McCain's VP Pick!

This just in ... John McCain has selected the person who will be by his side for the 2008 presidential race.

Meet Sarah Palin:

She's the 44-year-old Governor of Alaska, a conservative, and a mother of five.  Palin is against abortion rights, a member of the NRA, and also the youngest governor in Alaska history.

So no matter who wins in November -- McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden -- it will be a historic election.

What do you think of this pick, of Obama's acceptance speech, and of politics in 2008?

I've gotten old enough where the speeches were relevent...

I enjoyed Biden's speech, Who can ever forget his point about the winners being the people who get back up?

I'd heard that Obama spoke well, & he did...

Palin was very enjoyable to listen to, but she seemed to believe that we could solve our energy difficulties by drilling in Alaska...

McCain spoke well also.

My prob with both parties is that everybody seems to think that nuclear energy is a good idea!

I live in the south where there's a lot of sunlight.... I powered my last house entirely from my solar array.

Solar was mentioned once in both presidential speaches... compared to the paragraph + dedicated to dangerous, expensive  nuclear energy.

It's an exciting time...

And yet...
Noam Chomsky makes very interesting points in his book "Media Control".
