I want to write more = earn more, :) get my eyes fixed somehow so I can
see well again, and spend more time with people I like. Keep fit and
healthy. And finish painting the shed!
My "2010 list" is pretty short, but I would REALLY like to get into better shape this year, and I would REALLY like to get more organized in my life. Regular exercise has gone by the wayside over the past year and a half as I spent more and more time taking care of other people's crises more than a hundred miles away. But I'm ever the optimist that I can take the reins again one day at a time to work some exercise in a few times a week. Doesn't have to be heroic, but has to be more than I'm doing. As for the "getting organized" part, well...my life up to now has operated on "chaos theory". But I could certainly do with less clutter and more floor space, so that's the other big goal of mine. Good luck to us all!!
My 2010 goals list encompasses starting a family with my wife, returning to school for an Aging studies certificate and adjusting my compass towards a new career, perhaps assisting in some aspect with Growing Bolder. I understand that it takes doctors, employers, administrators, and universities to be stepping stones but I am faithful that with God's help all things are possible, AT ANY AGE.
I am going back to school. This is an ambitious plan for me, as I majored in theater the first time around and didn't graduate. This time, I know what I really want, and I pray I have the courage to see it through.
I want to go to Veterinary School at Texas A&M, and do research in animal behavior and psychology. I will be starting nearly from scratch, and surely hope my age will not interfere with my acceptance to the Vet program. I will be 58 by the time I make it. Let them try to stop me!
Wow, I love seeing what everyone is trying to accomplish in 2010 -- I'm especially impressed by those who are trying to go back to school or learn something new! Very inspiring.
My initial goal was to complete my second half marathon, and I did that earlier this month. (!!)
My next goal is to recommit myself to volunteering, and giving back. The disaster in Haiti has left me feeling a bit helpless, and although there's not much I can do for those victims, other than donate money, there is quite a bit I can do in my own community.
