Bamboo is very renewable and versatile

I couldn't agree more !!  We recently replaced our capeted area of our home with bamboo flooring.  the main reason I picked it is because of it renewability and it looks and smells wonderful.  I have socks made out of bamboo, they are so so soft !!  If you are going to buy something and it is offered in bamboo, I would highly recommend purchasing the bamboo item.  the more we buy the more apt manufacturers will use this wonderful product.

Great post, Carolyn. We were looking to replace our carpeting as well. We looked at laminate, hard wood and engineered floors and then happened upon a big clearance sale of bamboo flooring. My wife LOVED the look, but I was nervous not knowing anything about it or anyone who has it. I have since heard that it's more durable than hardwood and comes in a pretty wide variety. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's used it. Oh, and Carolyn... Bamboo Socks??????

I have plans to do my living room, kitchen, and office with bamboo flooring.  Thats if I can ever get myself away from updating the exterior of my house.  I am also part of the Home Improvement group and I really need to get some new pictures up there.  I have a couple small projects I have completed using bamboo canes around my house.  I actually went and cut the bamboo myself too :)

In our business, we're seeing more and more "green products". Believe it or not, apparel manufacturers are making shirts out of soy and bamboo. The result is a safer shirt for the environment, saves on oils in regular products and FEELS a whole lot better against the skin!

Bamboo is terrific.  We have it ALL through our home; even the kitchen!  We should post pictures.  It is harder than oak, water resistant and almost cheaper than tile.
