Thanks for your interest.
It's always a good idea to include some information about your garden when asking a question about it.
Things like zone, whether in the country or the city, how much room you have to play with are all relevant.
I checked out the pictures you have on your profile, & if the monarch on the Asclepias is from your yard, I'd say that you're on the right track.
An organic garden is just what it sounds like.... no chemicals (no matter what).
I trust that my soil page will be helpfull.

Very interesting report about the dangers of using roundup over at the safe lawns blog.
I knew there was good reasons for avoiding that stuff... In spite of how everyone was insisting that it was perfectly safe... Sprinkle it on your food, they said... I guess it's in our food anyway...
