Hi, I'm in 2 different groups!  One is the El Monte Yacht Club and we are a bunch of crazies that have a lot in common and just enjoy being with each other and supporting each other thru good times and bad.  El Monte is in California and it is about 40 miles from any lake or ocean and it's about as far from being yacht type people as it can be...so you can tell just by the name that we enjoy having fun.  The other group I belong to is The Painted Ladies of Tole.  I don't really care for the name but the lady that started it was in a Tole painting class with several of the others so they thought it fit.  This group is a little more dignified and not so crazy but we have a lot of fun, too.

It has been really Hot here for the past week, but we are fortunate that the fires weren't here. Our Son and Wife and  Grandson live in West Kelowna and were evaquated (sp?) for a few days. They are sure happy to be home.

Thankfully it rained today, and they have most of the fires contained. How is Calgary? We came through there a week ago just after the Stampede, and watched the chuckwagon races on TV in our Hotel room. Very entertaining! Do you have a white Cowboy hat or a red one?

Any Red Hat Ladies on here from Panama City, FL?  This sounds like so much fun, I'm going to have to find a nearby chapter and try it!

Hi,  I belong to 2 Red Hat chapters here in a small town in Alberta. I started the first one  & we limited the group to 18, we find it easier when we need cars to go to the city or to make reservations in a restaurant. We only have several ladies who will drive in cities.  We have a very good attendance with 16-18 at every outing, we have a lot of  laugh and we are very close.
The second chapter was started by one of our girls as so many more ladies wanted to join, she has 30 in her chapter, with only about 1/2 attending at one time, most are working girls. I also belong to a chapter in Arizona in the winter. As you can see I  do love Red Hatters.

How wonderful!  What a spirited lady you must be.  I wish all of us could have your energy.  I do my share and help when possible but just can't get into doing it all which is what most initiators or Queenies have to do.  I belong to 2 clubs, too....and both are very different.

Who approved the keene road landfill?  It smells by my house and is only going to get worse.  Lets thank the mayor by voting him out of office.  I am sure the landfill is not near his home.  Thanks for making property values worth even less and making Apopka a garbage dump.

That should really bolster the community and tax base.  Vote Apopka Mayor out if he doesn't close down dump, I don't want my kids to have cancer.

John, I think you might be in the wrong section for that comment.  This is the Red Hat Ladies section, and although I doubt that any of the ladies would mind hearing from a gentleman, I don't think they will understand where you're coming from.  We're not discussing dumps and we don't even know where the dump is.  Maybe you should try checking out the listings at the top of the web site and go for forums or blogs...but look for subject matter that is a little more appropriate for what you want to discuss.  Hope this infor helps.
