I'm 68 and retired from being an officer of CSX Railroad.   I love being retired!!!  I was with the RR 22 years; I also was the editor, photographer and columnist for a monthly newspaper for 6 years (what fun that was!);  I taught school (English and math) at a business college for 5 years.

I paint with oils and sometimes water color, swim, snorkel, dance, travel, write poetry, read (favorite authors are Anne Tyler & Lee Smith), and take lots of pictures.   I'm a Democrat, an environmentalist, an animal lover, a political activist, a Southerner and a Red Hatter.

I grew up in a beautiful little town in Georgia in the 1940's and '50's.  The adults sat in rocking chairs on the large porch at night while we caught fireflies.  In high school I was a cheerleader, dated a football player and loved Elvis Presley.
