Naples and Casey are beautiful! What great canine fur-babies!!

Thanks, Katy, for sharing your Faegan and Junior information with me. I know how my Maxi and Rudy fill my life with that "unconditional" love--loving me for who I am; taking me at my worse as well as my best.
I love to hear about people who rescue animals from humane societies too. Like my Maxi and Rudy, their first Mom was taken away by illness (cancer) and she really loved these little guys with all her heart. I know she is really delighted and at peace that they are with me. She knew when she was still here on this Earth that I was the one who was supposed to "adopt" these "Fur-babies" because she knew in her heart of hearts that they would be well-cared for and loved. She was (is) absolutely correct and both these little guys have filled a void in my heart when I had to "let go" of my beloved Hansel last June ('07), so he could rest in peace. They haven't taken his place; they've just created another most special place in my heart for them (if that makes any sense).
Again, I appreciate your responding to my original post of what kind of pets do members here have in their lives. You sound like a very compassionate lady with a wonderful heart. May you, Faegan and Junior be forever blessed.
In Light & Love for All of God's Creation,
Patti

Katy... OOPs ... I noticed you also have two feline rescuees; Travers and Laila. I didn't mention them in my previous post. You do definitely have a compassionate heart for animals! I only have my Maxi (mini-Schnauzer) and Rudy (standard Doxie) {so far...he he!}. Are Travers and Laila both indoor kitties, or do they go outside? My sister has "many" kitties--many strays and ones that she has found around her house that perhaps people dropped off. She is another animal (kitties in particular) rescuer. All her kitties are both indoors and outdoors trained--and they are loved beyond measure too.
Well, I just wanted to make mention that I saw that you have Travers and Laila as well. Again, may you ALL be thoroughly blessed with much love and light in ALL WAYS!

I have a co-dependent retriever. On the books he's a ten year old chocolate lab mix, but in reality he's always been a basket case. Wonderful disposition and incredibly needy. We got him from an animal shelter when he was six months old, and whatever he'd gone through first broke him in some ways. He was absolutely quivering with nervousness when the kids first met him. They instantly abandoned their clamor about getting something other than a retriever, because, they said, "this dog NEEDS us!! A bunch of antidepressants, canine anxiety drugs, pheromones and several chew-proof dog nests from Orvis later, he's still with us, chasing a tennis ball every chance he gets and sneaking any food off the kitchen counter that's not nailed down. Currently I have four neutered/spayed cats, Garfield is a red striped old man of about 17 years, Yoda is a gray tabby we adopted from a feral litter at 10 days old and is about 10 years old now. Ornery is a big old guy who has beautiful silver-lined black fur, and Mirage is a tiny, mostly white calico who appeared under our shed one day a few years ago. We don't see much of her, she's very timid, but gets along with the other cats very well.
I have a minature Daschund, Nestle Crunch. Right now I am also the custodial grandmother to two others, Snickerdoodle and Honey, who will both be moving to Georgia with my daughter soon.
That's all we have right now, although in the past some of our favorites included a garter snake, two hedgehogs, a black Lab, a Dalmatian, a Eskimo Spitz, and abunch of other cats and doxies, along with the occasional fish, turtle, rabbits, and mice.
