Favorite Old Time Agricultural Fairs

.
.
During late Summer and throughout the Fall, many people look forward to attending their favorite agricultural fair or exposition.  Which one is your favorite?  If you haven't been to the fair in a long time, tell us some "fair memories" from your childhood.

The Woodstock Fair is always held over the long Labor Day weekend (Friday through Monday).
The Brooklyn Fair always takes place the weekend before Woodstock (Thursday through Sunday).

Does the New England Mobile Book Fair count?  :)  I wonder if that place is even still open.

When I lived in Central New York, we would go to the fair just for the deep-fried Twinkies and kettle corn.  Wow, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Now I live in Central Florida, and we don't really have fairs, but we have a lot of festivals -- I like to people watch at those.

    Katy,
I did a Google search on the New England Mobile Book Fair.  It looks as though it's still in existance.

The Eastern States Exposition is always a highly anticipated annual event.  The fair ground is located in West Springfield, Massachusetts.  The 2008 "Big E" will be held September 12 - 28.

Can you believe it?  It's that time of year again for the annual agricultural fairs to begin.  I found a flyer for the North Stonington Agricultural Fair   It must be the first one of the season in Connecticut.  It took place July 9, 10, 11, and 12.

I'll check if there's a website listing these fairs in New England or for each state in the region.
