HometownMartha's Vineyard, MA
FamilyThere's Bob, a creative force in his own right, on the stage or in the classroom. He's co-stage-manager at home, and the perfect team member. There's Amelia who is a creative artist and musician, enjoying the excitement the teen years bring. There's Penelope who is also creative in art and music and our sole representative in the sports arena! Then there's Pika, our pekingnese, who shows his love by licking our faces.
EducationLots of music and art in the early years, which came to a crescendo at Martha's Vineyard Regional High School. I remember the guidance counselor said I might lose my spot as #2 in the graduating class if I kept taking all those music classes and didn't switch to Physics and Advanced Chemistry...let's hear it for 3rd place! College was a great time of expanding in all directions - Flute and French Horn Major at University of Evansville, Religion Major (taking as many art courses) at Boston University, Woodworking then Vocal Music major before graduating with Highest Honors at Marlboro College in Vermont. But that's just the school education - there have been countless people in my family and work environments, most importantly my ever-wondering-what-she's-going-to-do-next-long-suffering family who have been my champions forever, who have taught me amazing life lessons...even those whom I've never met before but wrote great magazine articles or books. I try to approach life like a sponge, and that simple animal's methods have never let me down.
GoalsTo be there for my family; to be everywhere for the kids of the world by bringing them the invitation to join me in my virtual creative space so that they too can experience the joys and possibilities of creativity in their lives. It seems to me that, with all the problems facing today's world, we could sure use some future creative thinkers!
People I'd like to meetAnybody with passion for what they do, especially when it's looking out for the needs of others.
