I was born on April 14th, 1952 in Erfurt, Germany. In 1957 me and my family moved to (West-) Berlin, where I became a permanent resident.
Before my debut album CHEROKEE MOON gained publicity by various record reviews, including the German ROLLING STONE magazine (January ‘97), I have been renowned primarily as a session guitarist in Berlin’s local music club scene. My versatility of styles have made me a perfect sideman on many occasions. I am regarded by many musician collegues as being very spontaneous and solid, as well as being a perfectionist in the studio. Since my recording debut in 1976 I have continued to be part of other artists album projects, when I was asked to help out. Dissatisfied with the locally determined musical direction I made a move towards the US in the early 90s, in order to meet some of my favorite musicians in Nashville, Tennessee and to play some of the music, which I enjoy the most. The result was the critically acclaimed CHEROKEE MOON master, which paved the way to my first officially released solo debut, and which is designed to qualify me as a singer and writer of songs, as well as a free-lance arranger and producer.
Besides my activities as a musician I have been engaged in music instruction, sound design and music journalism.
