Family
I have been married since the dawn of time (about 25 years) and raised two great kids, now 18 and 20. Like all families, we have our issues, but we survive everything that comes our way, so I guess we do ok. No grandkids yet, and hopefully no time soon. In about 7 or 8 years, maybe. No rush.
Education
My education? Hm. Well, I went to college over a decade, here and there. I moved a lot, and wherever I went, I attended school, but I never figured out whether I have enough credits for a degree because I became pregnant with my daughter during the last round at Florida Southern in Orlando. After kids, there was no more time for school. So I have a lot of schooling, much of it in English, Writing, Business, Advertising and Sciences. Some other classes thrown in to round out my program, like Psychology and Maths, but I knew then and have always known that I wanted to be a writer. I have been working in web development for a while, but all self taught.
Goals
My goals are pretty simple, and at the same time, lofty. I want to make an impact; to be part of the solution. And if it's not too much to ask, write so profoundly that it endures. Some things just stick with you. Flowers for Algernon. Powerful little story. Now if I could only learn profound...
People I'd like to meet
I'll get back to you on this one. Mostly, I like to meet people who are intelligent, inventive and not full of themselves. That excludes an awful lot of famous people. The most enjoyable people I've met recently are the driving force behind growingbolder.com. If the world had more people like Marc, Bill and Katy...we'd all be much better off

Posted 3:18am June 26th, 2010hey, I knew Dolly also!!!!! Obviously several years before you met her. i was in first thru fourth grade (then moved) and Miss Jean's youngest daughter Kelly was a year older. I loved the family and Dolly. She babysat us!!! I still grieve for her. I was so thrilled to find someone with the same fond memories of my old friend. Thank you for that beautiful tribute to her

Posted 7:02pm December 11th, 2009Sheri! So nice to see you again. Imagine my surprise to see PR's actually had gone and bitten the bullet. So I went on a 'sniffles-I-miss-you-guys' google search and have tracked you down. Any chance you might be able to point me in the direction of more fellow PR folks or have we all gone and gotten spread out?
Was nice to catch up a little bit on your profile and I'm sorry to hear about the dog and some of the stresses. However, it sounds like you've managed quite nicely in your own 'Sheri' way. Take care!

Posted 9:36am March 7th, 2009Steve, I did change it, and it's a social experiment. I commented that a well-known marketer's follow friday recommendation was a disporportionate number of lovely dark-haired women and he freaked out. Which amused me. Someone else said that marketing people always flirt with attractive young ladies, so I decided to find out if it's true. Will I get more followers? More random people chatting at me? More followfriday recommendations? It's my picture, from 30 years ago, and the hand on my arm is Ed McMahon's...from a promo party for a new poloroid camera. It's one of the few surviving pics I have from my late teens/early 20s. http://i676.photobucket.com/albums/vv127/sherisaid_blog/sherry-21.jpg

Question: did you just change your Twitter picture? Used to be more avatar than photo?
See you on AgeOp.
