Today, on this Veteran's Day, I urge every American to read the essay by Carleton Jones, Jr., a veteran of the Cold War and Vietnam. I have never met the man. I have also never read such a well-written, succinct statement of what it means to be an American. The essay is posted as part of a tribute to veterans here.
