About Me

Born in Minnesota, but moved to San Diego when I was nine. Spent the next 30 years in San Diego, so consider it my hometown. Spent 5 years in St Louis, MO before moving to Florida. Spent 2 years in the Army, and was stationed in Monterey, CA. Worked for General Dynamics for 35 years before retiring in 1991. After retiring, I started my own sports marketing and promotion business, which I still own. We concentrate on promoting motocross and supercross races. I also started a web design business in 2000, and am still busy with it. I don't plan on retiring again.

I enjoy motorcycle riding and racing, and have done it for almost 50 years. Each year I go on a solo motorcycle adventure for over a month. I cover from 6000 to 10000 miles of back roads on each trip. I've seen a lot of beautiful places in the US, Canada and Mexico, and look forward to exploring more of our beautiful county for many more years.

Hi Bill....I'm glad to see that you still ride your motorcycle.  I ride mine almost every day.  I was planning a trip to the Rockies this past Septemember, but it snowed early, and I know from experience that snow and motorcycles don't mix.  I spent about two weeks in the Rockies in 2008, but want to go back and hit some of the back roads and even some of the dirt roads that really get you into the wilderness.  I'm going to get up there this year for sure, but it's going to be before or after the summer months, so I don't have to battle summer vacationers.

I did manage a trip to the Everglades, which was great.  We found a dirt road that took us through 30 miles of real back country, and lots of critters.

More About Me

Hometown

Grew up in San Diego, CA, but been in Central Florida almost 30 years.

Family

I've been married to a wonderful women for almost 50 years, and we have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. All of our kids live in Florida, so we're able to spend some quality time with them. My parents have both passed on, as well as one of my sisters. I do have one sister still living in San Diego. My wifes parents and siblings are all gone.

Education

I graduated from Kearny High School and National University, both in San Diego.

Goals

My primary goal is to live a long and adventureous life with my beautiful wife.

People I'd like to meet

I love to meet new people, especially those with a positive outlook on life. They don't have to be famous, but it would be nice to meet one of the President's of our grand nation.

My Favorites

Interests

First my wife and family...3 children and 6 grandchildren.  My wife and I love golf, but I suck at it these days.  I enjoy all forms of sports, and participated in most team sports when I was young.  I also ride and raced motorcycle most of my life.  Don't race anymore, but do a lot of adventure riding.

Books

I have my own web design business, so most of my spare time is spent reading technical publications and searching for ways to do things better.  When I do have time for pleasure reading, it's usually and adventure book of some kind.

Foods

I like all kinds of foods, but some don't like me.  I'm learning to eat healthy, but it's slow going.

Music

I'm still a fifties guy.  I get on my motorcycle and set my satellite radio to the 50's channel and can listen to it all day.  I also like most pop music and used to be a real Jazz fan, especially 50's, 60's and 70's jazz.

Movies

When I was a kid I never missed a movie, but got away from going to a movie theater when we started having kids.  Now my wife and I are avid movie fans once again.  We both like any kind of a movie as long as it's done well and has acceptable content.  Action and comedy are our favorites, and my wife always likes a good romance movie..

Television

Some television in the evening, but hardly ever in the daytime, except for sports.  I like a good suspense and action  show like 24, Alias (to bad it was cancelled, I loved Jennifer Garner), CSI, NCIS and the Unit.

Passions/Hobbies

My passions and hobbies are pretty much the same as my interests.  I love motorcycles and ride with my friends every chance I get.  I look forward to my annual adventure rides around the US, Canada and Mexico.

Heroes

My dad was my biggest hero, and I lost him way too early. During my career I looked up to several  people that help me succeed in business.  During my racing days, Roger DeCoster was my hero.
