Each year I go on a motorcycle adventure to somewhere on the North American Continent. I don't travel the main roads, but opt for the back roads and even dirt roads that criss-cross throughout our great country. This year my destination was Eastern Canada. After working my way up the East coast from Florida, I ended up in Bar Harbor, Maine., where I explored for a few days before hopping on...
As some of your already know, I am a motorcycle enthusiast. To be on the open road with the wind in my face gives me a feeling of really being alive and in touch with nature. The other day a small group of us over 50 year old riders decided to take a little adventure ride. Since we all lived in different places throughout Florida, we decided to meet for breakfast at Jake's Place on Highway...
I'm happy to see that more and more folks are signing up and posting blogs. I've been telling my friends about GB, and I've received nothing but great feedback from them. In fact, I talked with one of my close friends from high school tonight, and suggested that he post a few of his stories. He travels a lot and has an extremely interesting background. He's a friend to the environment and has...
I bought a new motorcycle this week and I just had to take it out for a breakin ride, and what a georgous day to do it. I headed south from Clermont to Lake Louisa Road, which is one of my favorite roads. The lake was beautiful as usual and there were even some braves soles out on there water ski's. The road goes by Lake Susan, and from there I headed west on Lakeshore Drive which meanders...

This year I decided to ride the pacific coast highway from Vancouver B.C. to Mexico. This would be a fantastic ride all by itself, but I'm starting in Florida. This means that I'll get to see a lot more of the U.S. I'm heading north out of Florida (no other choice) into...
I didn't have my own car until after I graduated from high school in 1953. It was either the bus or my dad's car, which was a nice new 1952 Mercury Monterey. We moved to 54th and University during my senior year, so I used the bus a lot in 1952 and 1953. Occasionally, my dad would drop me off on his way to work at Consolidated Vultee. After graduation, my need for a car became more of a...
For those of you who love to watch motorcycle racing, you missed some great motocross racing this weekend in Citra, FL. It was the 6th Annual National Vet Motocross Championship There were 300 racers in attendance, and they ranged from 6 to 62. Some of the best racing was between the 60 year olds, especially a couple of old motocross veterans named Tom Bragg from Florida and Gary Peak from...
