Hanna, my mini-Dachshund, and I live together, usually peacefully.  My only child, Lauren, and her husband, Jared, live in downtown Atlanta and I keep the road warm.  Last summer they gave me my first grandchild, Isaac, whom I adore and would steal if I could.  My brother, Ben, still lives in Mississippi and is a retired history prof.  He and I have always been very "close".  Have a sister, Jane,  but at the moment, we're not speaking.....not unusual....horses of a different color or not cut from the same cloth.......however the expression goes.   Wish I had a larger family.  It was always fun growing up with lots of aunts, uncles and cousins.  My mother and father both had nine siblings.

Want to make the most of the time I have left.  Get me started.  I'm an old athlete, still in good health and usually sound mind.  Like adventure and discovering new avenues and new friends .  Wish to continue efforts to protect animals and nature + natural resources.  Like creative writing and artsy projects.  Love to travel.   I need a cause, have something to contribute.  Like to work to improve conditions in 3rd world countries.  Sponsor 2 children in Africa.  Might like to work with disadvantaged children in the States.

People who fit the molds I've described above.  Even the edge of the mold will do.  Need a cause, need fun, need someone who is interesting, ethical and caring  and who will pull me along if necessary.  A hero from the sports world would be Andre Agassi. He morphed from a show-off kid into a mature man who not only gave every ounce of himself to his tennis game,( even when in severe pain), but also established and funded a school for children in the Vegas area.  He is a true humanitarian as well as a model father and husband.  Best of all, he is open, unashamed in demonstrating his love and tenderness.

Nature, traveling, dancing, reading, painting, pottery, walking, gardening, learning, Bridge, crafts, discussions, writing, finding new friends, deciding what to do with the rest of my life and how to do it best.

I DO THESE THINGS ONE AT A TIME...NOT TOTALLY MULTI-TASKING.

I AM A VEGETARIAN 

Appreciate most genres unless it's deafening!  REALLY ENJOY SOMETHING  THAT INVITES TO DANCE. 

Did you see the movie, "Waking Ned Devine"?  I thought it wonderful!  How about "The Gods Must be Crazy"?

Reruns of Boston Legal, Dark Blue,  tennis matches, baseball games, The Mentalist, The Cleaner, The Closer, news channels, The History Channel, Travel Channel, Antique Roadshow.  Also can get hooked on American Idol--depending on singing quality.

Fairness, empathy and unconditional love.  One of my great passions is the right of all children to feel loved, protected, and nourished.  I feel the passion in paintings of certain visual artists and in interpretative dance.
