InterestsI love the rural landscape and lived in small towns in Ohio & Indiana growing up. Like old "stuff"...not as expensive as "antique" and not as worthless as "junk"!ha My husband and I collect ugly chicken things, unusual advertising thermometers, granitewear & old AM/FM radios. Like hiking, walking & boating when time allows and am HOOKED on Sunday crossword puzzles!
BooksSeems like textbooks are ruling my life at present, but I've always loved to read! Patricia Cornwell, Jonathan Kellerman. I really like a vast variety of subjects...skies the limit!
FoodsLOVE to cook...mostly down-to-earth dishes. Comfort foods. I have a big garden and grow lots of garlic, asparagus, concord grapes, blueberries, black & red raspberries. Tomatoes and hungarian long hot peppers too! And a variety of herbs. I have a dehydrater & like to experiment with drying foods & herbs. My husband and I rarely eat out and prefer simple, healthy food that we grow or put together ourselves. We once had our own laying hens and, yes, meat chickens that we ate too.
Music70's & 80's rock, some contemporary Christian, some classical & opera.
Moviesrarely go to a movie theater. We rent DVDs in the winter (too busy in summer). Mostly (tasteful) scary movies, drama, action stuff. I like a good tear-jerker too once in awhile. I rarely watch TV (studying instead) so am not really involved in movies too much.
Televisiondon't watch much tho I DO like Antiques Roadshow & Oprah if I get the time.
Passions/HobbiesMy faith and believe in Jesus Christ is my biggest passion! To learn and follow his example is a lifelong journey and makes my life worth living! My family is also so so precious to me! They have always been just a step away any time I've need someone to catch me & hold me when I don't think I can go on. Dogs, too, are very important to me..animals in general, especially their well-being.
HeroesWouldn't know where to start...but I DO know that I meet them every day!
