On Sept. 9, 2009, Beatlemania once again swept the world when Apple Corps. and EMI jointly released the long-awaited remastered editions of all 15 Beatles studio albums on CD and two box sets of the albums, one in stereo and one in mono. PLUS, gamers will finally get to rock out like Paul, John, George and Ringo with the release of "Beatles: Rock Band."
All the hype got the Growing Bolder team nostalgic and swapping stories about our favorite Beatle, our favorite song or album and our favorite memories of the Fab Four.
Take a walk down The Long and Winding Road of your own memory and share your thoughts on the lads from Liverpool. Do you still think the Beatles are the greatest band of all time? Have the songs stood the test of time? Will you be purchasing the newly remastered Beatles CDs?
The greatest band of all-time? Maybe. Certainly the most transformational. Has any other band in history had the worldwide cultural impact that the Beatles did? They sparked a musical and social revolution that was unprecedented and has never been duplicated. They influenced music, fashion, film, art, religion and more. I liked Paul the most. What girl didn't?
Without a doubt, the most influential musical group in history. They changed the music and cultural scenes literally overnight - the following Monday after the Ed Sullivan show, everything changed with hairstyles being one of the major changes. The saddest thing is that our kids and grandkids will never go through such a magical time like we did.
"Do you still think the Beatles are the greatest band of all time?"
They changed almost everything, especially here in Europe. Without them none of us would stand where we stand today. No other band could ever claim for such an achievement!
"Have
the songs stood the test of time?"
Beatlemania and the fashion side of the Sixties may have faded, but the songs will live forever.
"Will you be purchasing the newly
remastered Beatles CDs?"
Don´t know yet, great song material doesn´t need much remastering.....
