From Growing Bolder:
Dr. Dot Richardson is inspiration and energy personified. She captained the U.S. Olympic softball team that took home the gold in 1996 and 2000 while working her way through medical school in orthopedic surgery.
Dot was an NBC Sports broadcaster for the 2004 Olympic Games in Greece, and most recently, was named Commissioner of the ProFastpitch X-Treme Tour.
A born athlete, Dot developed a passion for softball at a time when women were confined to “women’s sports.” She broke down barriers and never allowed anyone to tell her she couldn’t just because she was a girl.
Today, she's the Director and Medical Director of the U.S. Triathlon Training Center and shares with audiences the secret to making dreams come true.

Posted 4:37pm August 31st, 2009Hi Dot,
A legend in your own time and inspiration to many, you are among the select women I admire most. (Doesn't hurt that your name is the same as my beloved Mama's
A friend's daughter (from Jacksonville) is participating in a triathlon in September, and I watched some of the training and dedication in awe... so much more than the professional athletes around whom I spent my early adult years. Add all of your other accomplishments, and, well, you're simply a wonder!
I've also worked some with (and been a client of) an incredible doctor - MD, PhD, DNM, researcher with 10+ international patents, recipient of one of her country's top science awards, etc. - whose equipment has had phenomenal results in treating sports injuries. I would love to introduce you two. She's in Ontario now but has a US phone line, and I'm looking for an excuse to get her down to Florida
If you are over toward Crystal River or Gainesville and might have a brief moment, please let me know. It would be a joy to meet you face-to-face!
Be most blessed,
Margaret
