My name is Reuben and I'm enjoying the gift of life thanks the genorosity of an organ donor. I am 71 and received a double lung transplant a few months ago that saved my life. I want everyone to know, despite what even your doctor may tell you , that it's never too late to receive an organ transplant as long as your other organs are healthy.

Posted 11:50 am January 12th, 2008Great story! I LOVE a "happy ending"!
Reuben's story supports my belief that you should always get a second opinion on medical matters... especially when one doctor says there's nothing that can be done... DON'T BELIEVE IT! Here's proof that a second opinion saved his life and that age shouldn't matter - for donors or recipients or GB Insiders..
I also hope that the GB site will make people more aware about transplants and hopefully they'll sign up to become donors. It's easy and it just makes so much sense to give the "Gift of Life" when there are so many on the waiting list.
Way to go, Reuben!
