Here we go a stab at a blog...
Bill & Jason came out to our center and did a great video about us and our center to help birds of prey. It was really good and we were pleased. I did hope to make clear that when Bill was talking about an eagle under rehabilitation it was not the one pictured in the piece. That adult is a 15 year old bird that is not releaseable and lives with us at our center.
And for the first time I read a comments file, I do think raptors are important...they DO indeed eat ringneck doves, an invasive species that is actually quite harmful to our native doves. As a bigger bird they run our smaller mourning doves out and they are the ones losing out. Think of all the rats and mice hawks and owls eat, my my what would we do in Florida if we didn't have these fantastic raptors?
