Growing Bolder Community

Velya Jancz-Urban has morphed through several career changes from high school English and History teacher, stay-at-home mom, elementary Enrichment/Gifted teacher, and most recently, hoodwinked and betrayed Brazilian dairy farm owner.  The Chica Peep movement ignited within her after she was "put back together again" with the help of a group of female teacher friends. Velya believes, "If I have Chica Peeps, then so do other women. It's time for them to be able share their stories in a published anthology of short stories titled Who Are YOUR Chica Peeps?" Velya currently lives in Connecticut with her husband, Jim, and daughter, Ehris. Her son, Mic, attends the University of Puerto Rico. Velya is a member-in-good-standing of the original Chica Peeps.
