Joe has held age world records in both the 60-64 and 65-69 age groups. His best vault over the age of 60 is a record leap of 12' 1&1/2" at Clermont, Fl. on Feb 18, 2006. Joe is also a world ranked hurdler and a national champion in the heptahlon; a combination of 7 events including hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put, pole vault, 60 meter sprint, and 1000 meter run.

Posted 9:04am September 29th, 2011I love this video. In building the Joe dome, Joe too an "I can't" to an "I will."
I built a climbing gym in my basement for the same reason Joe built the Joe dome-passion.
And guess who built it...ME!
Joe conveys the same message that all the athletes I interviewed for my 50 Athletes Over 50 book.
- Find something you LOVE to do, work at like play, and be willing to change what you do over time. Simple.
