About Me

Welcome to Growing Bolder.com. Say hello to Boomer. You're probably wondering why your first friend is a squirrel. Well, to be honest, things can get a little nutty around here. But mostly, Boomer represents the Growing Bolder can-do spirit.

As new features are unveiled, you'll see them on this page first so we encourage you to keep Boomer as your friend. Also, feel free to leave any comments or questions below about GrowingBolder.com. Who knows? Someone else may have your same question. So, we'll post the answers right here on this page.

Happy surfing! Sorry, happy skiing.

High there, glad to be here, love the sight.  I hope it stays clean, enough trash in the world today as it is.

Help, Boomer!  I have lots of bulletins automatically (I suppose) posted on my profile page, and need to remove some.  Have exhausted my limited knowledge of technology, and would appreciate any thoughts on this subject.

...and oh, yes, I am enjoying reading and participating in the blogs.  Exception:  The healthcare discussion got nasty and became something other than a debate....or even factual.   Do appreciate the Growing Bolder homepage this week and the variety of healthcare issues being presented.

    Hi Boomer,

This is a very nice website, still trying to figure it out. As a senior citizen, both my husband and I like volunteering, and belong to RSVP.  We also go to our local Senior Citizen Center, for meals, Mon thru Fri, and enjoy meeting people from every walk of life.

Hi Boomer...about time us Sr. Citizens get something we can enjoy. My husband (90) and myself (77) sang, he played guitar and entertained for the nursing homes, churchs, birthdays, funerals, weddings, for over 15 years here in Fla.  Oh how we enjoyed doing that..but due to health issues had to give it up.  We now only sing every month in our church. Glad to be members.

    Hi  Boomer.

You  look like a pretty  cool squirrel.  My  dog loves to watch your cousins run up and down the trees and she love to run after them.  Don't  worry she never catches them.  Thanks  for the welcome

I'm glad a friend emailed me this website!
    I now am a member...
At 82 and cruising, taking care of my husband, fooling around on the computer and planning one more drive around the country, usually 8.000 to 10,000 miles, back this time to visit his sister, she has Az and he has Az/dementia(not too sure of which) as well as NPH.
You can do what you REALLY want to do!

Hey Boomer.....thanks for the welcome.....and thanks for the Rachel videos....had never heard of this site until today when someone forwarded the original Rachel flick.....Rachel for President!  My Mom is 91 and still driving and working....her car is not quite that old though.  Let's hear it for these American treasures like Rachel and Eleanor who know what it means to be proud citizens of the US of A and spunky enough to be examples to others!

Hi Boomer, thank you for the welcome. I found it fitting that my first welcome should be a squirrel. You see I've been trying to get rid of a squirrel, who I call Squirrely Burly, who keeps jumping on the bird feeder out back, stealing all seeds. There was a sand hill crane who has scared him a few times, but it seems he's taken off since July 4th weekend. I figure he's on vacation somewhere south. As you can see in the pic, Squirrel Burly is getting very fat.

    Hi Boomer,

Thanks for the welcome. I'm so new that I'm still snooping around gb looking to see if there is a "niche" for lil ol me. So far, I'm impressed with the over-all tone and welcoming feeling here.

This is a great idea.  Happy to have discovered you.

I am an enthusiastic older adult with many interests, hobbies and great curiosity. I hope to find others like me here

I do have one question for you as regards your terms of service, (which I did read), and ownership of items posted on this site. Not being fluent in "legalese", I'm not clear on whether or not to post say, in the creative writing group, an original poem. By doing so, would I be assigning away any of the rights to my work? I do understand that gb would be allowed to display it, which is fine, though ownership is a different matter and not fine at all. Can you clarify this for me? I am a published writer, and I do belong to several writing sites as well. Most of them make it clear that all rights to an auther's original work stay with the auther. I apologize in advance if the information was there and I missed it or "didn't get it", lol- admittedly, for a woman who loves to think, my mind sometimes becomes another four-letter word- (mush), yikes, how scarey is that?

    Thanks again,

    I send smiles,

    toes

BTW, great shots of your brahmas! Now I'll have to post one of my mom and dad's longhorn bull. He's a handsome fella named Bambam.

Lassie was one of my favorite programs, too. Now I have a wonderful collie that's a certified therapy dog. We volunteer in schools and libraries, helping children learn to read and love to read. Would love to have you visit my site, www.librarydogs.com

    Hey Boomer,

My sister, Simply Deb posted a picture in GB for National Doughnut Day that I had taken. I had made some homemade doughnuts. I climbed my ladder and put them all over the roof of my shed to feed the birds and some of your distant relatives...Haha
