John Lennon

Welcome to the Super Cool & Groovy '70s! Now that 30 years have passed since the death of John Lennon what do you think his rightful place in history should be? Musical genius?  Spoiled drug addict? Misguided subversive? Humanitarian Icon?

Hmmn good question.  Looking back then I was much more "conservative"  in thought.  Soo I probably would have gone with the subversive/spoiled brat concept.  But do you remember the song "I was soo much older then. I younger than that now"  Yes done a turn around.  Now I'm the sometimes considered subversive.  (progressive liberal)  I do see him & the beatles as a whole as being pop culture icons.

After listening to "imagine"  I think of him as a philosopher.

I BELIEVE THAT JOHN LENNON SHOULD BE REMEMBERED AS "THE LEAD BEATLE" FIRST!!  THEN HE SHOULD ALSO BE REMEMBERED FOR WANTING PEACE AROUND THE WORLD.

Hey Bent-Winged, funny you should mention the lyrics, "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now." That's the theme song for Growing Bolder Radio. Many of the interviews under the "audio" tab start with that line. Founder of the Byrds, Roger McGuinn who is a GB member and who has done MANY video stories and radio interviews with us recorded a special version just for us! So, that line, written by Bob Dylan and popularized by The Byrds is a big part of Growing Bolder!
