Interests
HUGE Movie buff, occasionally snobbish about "cinema,' but also able to enjoy "normal" movies from time to time. I'm also an occasional gamer, enjoying the Playstation 3 that I talked my wife into letting me buy. Guitar Hero and Rock Band are VERY addictive games! Music has always been a large part of my life, from playing trumpet in school bands, to dj-ing in night clubs. Now I keep an ear glued to my Sirius Satellite radio. There really is something there for everybody. I live and die with the St. Louis Cardinals, and I've married into a Pittsburgh Steelers family. This past fall I realized how much I LOVE watching college football, following Purdue, Penn State, and Mizzou. I've grown bolder and joined the Men's Senior Baseball League, playing for the Orlando Pirates.
Books
I read a ridiculous amount of books ABOUT movies. Right now, "Round Up The Usual Suspects" about the making of Casablanca. I also read some history and political books, one of my favorite being "Case Closed," by Gerald Posner, which methodically lays out why Oswald did indeed act alone. I was in the local TV business for over a decade, and have collected many books about the TV business. I've always enjoyed Dave Barry, Scott Adams, P.J. O'Rourke, and Bob Woodward. Now I've started reading "Watching Baseball Smarter."
Foods
Pretty much everything. Italian, German, Mexican, Cuban and more. I love to grill steaks, burgers, and salmon in my backyard. If I were still single, the stove and oven would almost never be used. I love cooking over fire! I also enjoy a good beer. The Orlando Brewing Company makes some great brews right on the edge of downtown.
Music
Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Metallica, New Order, Beatles, Franz Ferdinand, Garbage, De La Soul, Eminem, Public Enemy. I was a dance-club DJ from age of 16 through my early twenties, so I have over 1,000 records, mostly of high-energy dance music and remixes. "Blue Monday" by New Order is almost certainly my favorite song of all time.
Movies
Citizen Kane, The Godfather 1 and 2, The Third Man, M, Silence of the Lambs, Rear Window, Jaws, Dr. Strangelove, Apocalypse Now, Goodfellas, Lawrence of Arabia, Touch of Evil, Singin' in the Rain, Sunset Boulevard, Double Indemnity, Casablanca, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, The Maltese Falcon, The Manchurian Candidate (1962), Bull Durham, Airplane, Duck Soup, Raiders of the Lost Ark, F for Fake, Bridge Over the River Kwai, 24 Hour Party People, The Thin Blue Line, Mr. Death.
Television
Arrested Development, 30 Rock, 24, Dexter, The Office, The Simpsons, Robot Chicken, Errol Morris' First Person, The Wire, Lost, Boomtown, House, Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Passions/Hobbies
Cinema, German food, good beer, music, gaming, baseball.

Posted 2:39 pm April 25th, 2008I apologize for continuing to call you "Josh" Jason. You just look like a Josh. I sued to work with a "Josh" at the NBC Affiliate in the Raleigh, NC market several years ago. He, too, had a sweet baby face just like yours! You were much more talented than he was though!
