Joey Dee and his group the Starliters shot to the top of the pop charts in the 1960s with their dance song, "The Peppermint Twist."

A career with other top hits and starring roles in films quickly followed.

Joey talked to Growing Bolder about his meteoric rise and how songs like his still have the ability to strike a chord of nostalgia in all of us.

He described his new group, the Dream Team of Rock 'n Roll, which includes some of the top acts from the '50s and '60s.
