Each year, the Purpose Prize is given out to people over 60 who are devoted to solving social problems.

The winners are selected by a panel of 21 judges that includes actor Sidney Poitier, journalist Cokie Roberts and author Gloria Steinhem.

One of this year's winner's is 74-year-old Gordon Johnson, who runs Neighbor to Family, a Daytona Beach, Fla.-based national foster care placement program he founded.

The program is focused on keeping siblings together.

Gordon says his program not only works to keep siblings together, but it also helps parents learn the skills they need to get their children back.

He tells Growing Bolder that his so-called retirement includes 40 to 60 hour workweeks, and that's exactly how he likes it.
