Roger Gentilhomme
Posted February 25, 2007, 5:24 pm in Sports by Growing BolderAt an age when many people are just happy to be alive, 97-year-old Roger Gentilhomme of Dunedin, Fla., is competing in multiple sports.
Last December, he earned his fifth trip to the Senior Olympics after capturing gold medals in shuffleboard, bowling and tennis at the Florida Senior Games.
And he won those medals by playing "youngsters" because he was the only athlete competing in the 95-99 age bracket.
Gentilhomme talked to Growing Bolder about his athletic prowess and how he keeps doing it.
Plus, he talked about his most recent honor – being named Florida's Male Athlete of the Year.
