On Nov. 24, 1963: Lee Harvey Oswald is assassinated by Jack Ruby, on live television, in the basemen of Dallas police department headquarters. The shooting comes two days after Oswald shot and killed President John F. Kennedy.

On Nov. 24, 1969: The Apollo 12 command module splashes down safely in the Pacific Ocean, ending the second manned mission to the Moon.
