A Thanksgiving Day dinner served to the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935 included: Pickles, green olives, celery, roast turkey, oyster stew, cranberry sauce, giblet gravy, dressing, creamed asparagus tips, snowflake potatoes, baked carrots, hot rolls, fruit salad, mince meat pie, fruit cake, candies, grapes, apples, French drip coffee, cigars and cigarettes.

In 2007, the average cost of an entire Thanksgiving feast was approximately $41.

The NFL has played games on Thanksgiving every

year since its creation. The Detroit Lions have hosted a game every Thanksgiving Day since 1934 (except for 1939-1944, due to World War II) and the Dallas Cowboys have hosted a game every Thanksgiving Day since 1966 (except for 1975 and 1977).
