45-Year-Old Crowned Next Big Supermodel

She certainly has the look, and it appears one of the biggest modeling companies in the world agrees! 45-year-old Tanya Hutchinson just landed a major contract with Wilhemina Models, Inc., after winning TV Land's reality series called "She's Got the Look." Hutchinson, a wife and mother of five, will also appear in a fashion spread in SELF magazine.

"She's Got the Look" was launched as a search for the next great supermodel. Only difference? The winner had to be over the age of 35. Supermodel Kim Alexis hosted the series, with judges that included supermodel Beverly Johnson, stylist Robert Verdi, and Wilhemina president Sean Patterson. To get to the top, the women had to prove their beauty -- both inside, and out. In a dramatic finale, Hutchinson became the last woman standing:



Hutchinson lives in Orange County, CA. She actually started modeling as a young girl, but after a horrific knife attack that left her scarred, she committed herself to missionary work, and raised her family. After hearing about TV Land's contest, Hutchinson joined the competition, and won over the judges.

TV Land's president (and GB Radio Show guest) Larry W. Jones says, "Not only is she beautiful but she has also had rich life experiences and has overcome so many obstacles to become the woman that she is today. 'She's Got The Look' is about the whole package, and Tanya has that." Sean Patterson agrees, saying in a news release, "The goal of 'She's Got The Look' was to prove to the world that women over 35 who aspire to model would encompass more depth, charm and ultimate beauty than the average model. With Tanya, we found a uniquely beautiful and inspiring woman who will undoubtedly be a success in the modeling industry."

The series proved to be so successful that TV Land has announced it is renewing the show for a second season in 2009. It's expanding from six episodes to eight, with the same mission -- finding a sophisticated, beautiful and confident women, 35 or older, looking to become a supermodel.
