Old Guys Fight Cancer

At Growing Bolder, we're big believers in the ideas that it's not about age; it's about attitude. We love finding other people and companies that share those beliefs, and one of our favorite companies is Old Guys Rule. Wet met OGR's Don Craig by chance at a convention in Florida, and once we heard about his mission -- we were hooked! Watch the video below, and you'll see why:



Craig, a professional surfer, wanted to honor his father. So, he created a simple bumper sticker with a surfboard and the phrase "Old Guys Rule." That bumper sticker evolved into a multi-million dollar sportswear company. The products are cool, clever, and very popular.

Now, there's an even better reason to support the company. OGR has teamed up with the John Wayne Cancer Foundation to raise money for cancer research and education. The company just introduced a collection of apparel inspired by John Wayne, using pictures and quotes from The Duke.

A portion of the sales from the collection is donated to the JWCF. The staff at OGR actually searched for the perfect partner, and owner Thom Hill says "John Wayne is the ultimate cool Old Guy, his zest for life and relentless fight against cancer embodies everything that we believe in." He goes on to say, "By supporting cancer research and education, JWCF's efforts focus on fighting many types of cancers that men often get, such as skin, lung, and prostate cancers. These are issues that affect Old Guys Rule fans and that we are eager to contribute to the awareness, prevention, and treatment of. Our hopes are that we can get the message of prevention out to our loyal customers, in addition to contributing to the incredible research and programs that the JWCF supports with the purchase of every t-shirt."
