What do American Idol, Hell's Kitchen, CSI, Grey's Anatomy, and AgeOP have in common? All were among the top 10 trending topics being discussed live on Twitter Thursday night.

Of course, you know all about these entertaining and highly watched programs. Or do you? What is AgeOp and how did it make this list?

AgeOp is a discussion on the 50+ Age Wave and it actually was the #2 trending topic on Twitter for a while Thursday night. Yes, the AgeOp chat beat American Idol, CSI, and Grey's Anatomy when it came to hot topics on Twitter.

So what are the hot topics on AgeOp?  This week the conversation moved fast and furious from intergenerational relationships, reverse mentoring, social media, making a difference, misconceptions about aging, politics, the media’s portrayal of 50+, The Three Stooges, differences between younger and older boomers, discrimination, the financial crisis and more.

“It’s all of the timely issues, examined through a 50+ prism,” said AgeOp co-founder Katy Widrick. “This is a conversation America needs to have and apparently one America wants to have. Aging is the great equalizer. None of us can escape it. Everyone has a vested interest in getting it right.”

The AgeOp chat is every Thursday night at 9:00 EST.  Click for more information and archived chats!
