Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Roger McGuinn had just performed in Nashville at the inaugural Musicians Hall of Fame awards show. He was headed to the west coast to begin a sold out concert and lecture tour when he was caught in a Midwest ice storm and took a nasty tumble, shattering his wrist. The music world held its collective breath for weeks, wondering if the rock legend would be able to play the guitar licks that made McGuinn and The Byrds famous.
