Bam! Don't Mess With Granny

A 70-year-old grandmother is receiving a complete set of Chef Emeril Lagasse’s signature cookware to replace the 5- quart saucepan she used to fight off home intruders.

Ellen Basinski was on the phone with her husband when four teens pushed their way into her home.  Her husband, a county judge in Cleveland, Ohio, overheard the scuffle, called 911 and raced home. Meanwhile, Mrs. Basinki, a grandmother to 13, grabbed the saucepan and began to walloped one teen, who was going through her purse.

The teens fled her home with her wallet, which contained $10, she said. They were caught and arrested a short time later.  

When asked why she wasn’t afraid to confront the burglars, Mrs. Basinski replied, "God takes care of little old ladies and fools. I don't know which one I am,"
