U.S. speed skater Eric Heiden makes history with his 5th individual gold medal at the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. His record stood until 2008 when swimmer Michael Phelps matched it, winning five individual gold medals (and 3 gold medals for relays) at the Beijing Games.
