This Monday marks Memorial Day, a federal holiday that honors the U.S. men and women who have died in military service. With so many people overseas in battle now, it's a particularly poignant holiday. There is a national moment of remembrance at 3 p.m. local time, and Americans are asked to fly the U.S. flag at half-staff from dawn until noon.
