For more than 140 years, Americans have honored our fallen soldiers on the last Monday in May -- a date specifically chosen because it was not the anniversary of a battle. These days, many of us enjoy a long weekend with friends and family, but we urge you to take some time this year to remember the real reason for the holiday -- our men and women in uniform. Visit our veterans channel to meet Real American Heroes who risked their lives to protect your freedom. And let their words and memories remind of the enormous debt of gratitude we all owe these brave men and women.
