Pick it Before it Picks You!

What do your grandkids call you? In many cases, the question is answered by nieces and nephews or older siblings. But for a first grandchild the possibilities are infinite.

The range spans from "Grandmother," to a nonsense word mumbled by a baby and repeated by an adoring parent – a nonsense word that is now a name by which a grandmother will be known for the rest of her life.

Once the name is set, it’s tough to change it! As someone noted during a recent chat, “My grandparents were called Muzzie & Bamps - better pick your name, before it gets picked for you!”

Other names I've heard: Nan-mom Nano, Papa, Mimi, Nam, Pap, Nin Nin, Grammy, Grumpy, and even GMa!
