On This Day In 1965 - The Fender Guitar Company is sold to CBS for $13 million.

On This Day In 1999 - Minnesota inaugurates pro wrestler Jesse Ventura as its 38th governor. He is the first Reform Party candidate ever to win office in the state.

Picture of the Day: No matter how cold it happens to be where you are, it probably could be worse! But this little guy is making the best of it. His name is Knut and he's the main attraction of Zoo Berlin, the oldest zoo in Germany. Knut is quite a celebrity there as he is the first polar bear to be born in Zoo Berlin in over 30 years.
