On March 2, 1904, a doctor was born like no doctor before. Theodor Geisel, better known to the world as Dr. Seuss, the author and illustrator of "The Cat in the Hat" and "Green Eggs and Ham," is born in Springfield, Massachusetts. Dr. Seuss passed away in 1991.

On March 2, 1933, the movie "King Kong" had its world premiere in New York.

On March 2, 1944, "Casablanca" won the best picture Academy Award.

On March 2, 1967, Frank Sinatra's "Strangers In The Night" was named Record of the Year at the Grammy Awards. The Song of the Year award went to John Lennon and Paul McCartney for "Michelle."

Picture of the Day: Englishman Ian Welch recently set a world's record for catching the biggest freshwater fish by rod. Fishing in  Thailand, he landed a 770 pound freshwater ray!  It took 90 minutes to land and 13 men to heave it out of the water.
