Picture of the Day: Go ahead-swim a lap. According to Guinness World Records, the man-made saltwater pool at the San Alfonso del Mar resort at Algarrobo, Chile is the largest swimming pool in the world. It's more than 1,000 yards long, covers 20 acres, has a 115ft deep end and holds 66 million gallons of water. The pool uses a computer-controlled suction and filtration system to keep fresh seawater in permanent circulation, drawing it in from the ocean at one end and pumping it out at the other. It took 5 years and $2 billion to build.
