The iPod of Its Day

This week in 1954, Texas Instruments introduced a little box that revolutionized the radio industry. Transistor radios brought people, but especially kids, closer to the music than ever before and helped usher in the rock and roll era. One of those kids was future Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Roger McGuinn. He explains how his very first transistor radio and a certain Elvis song ignited his passion for music and lifetime of collecting.
