By the time he was 24, Leon Fleisher was the most sought after soloist in the world. But, he was attacked by a rare neurological disease and suddenly lost the use of his right hand. So Fleisher became a one-handed concert pianist and waited for a cure. He waited over 30 years. At the age of 67, he returned triumphantly to Carnegie Hall playing his first two-handed concert in nearly 4 decades. Now 81, Fleisher is still performing, conducting and teaching.
