On Dec. 28, 1958, the Baltimore Colts won the NFL championship, defeating the New York Giants 23-17 in overtime at Yankee Stadium. The game has since become widely known as The Greatest Game Ever Played. Witnessed by 45 million viewers on NBC, the game gave birth to the legend of Johnny Unitas and has been credited with changing football forever and giving birth to the modern NFL.
