On March 15, 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson addresses a joint session of Congress to urge the passage of legislation guaranteeing voting rights for all, just eight days after racial violence erupted in Selma, Alabama. Using the phrase "we shall overcome," Johnson says that "every American citizen must have an equal right to vote."

Picture of the Day: Doggone it, are his hands full! British dog owner Adam Morley takes his 18 Dalmatian puppies for a walk before they leave for their new homes. The adorable pups were part of a record-setting litter for their mother, Button. Just a year ago, she gave birth to a litter of 15 -- the average litter for Dalmatians is eight or nine. She's giving the Octomom a run for her money!
